wife of a mac fiend

well, i can't promise that i'll write on this blog often but i've decided to start it any ways. i suppose if i wrote here every time my husband started raving about the new macs or a new mac item i would run out of blogging space. i could even write every time he picks up his computer to read an article or check to see if mac has updated their site and then too, i would run out of space quickly.
matt, my husband, has finally found a job so he is no longer on the computer from the moment he wakes up until the moment he goes to bed, at home. now he's using computers at work all day and then coming home and jumping on his computer as soon as possible. now even if he has to go to the bathroom when he gets home, he will unplug his trusty "MACBOOK PRO", grab a blue folding chair, and then enter the bathroom and have a seat. he will sometimes sit in the humid and stinky bathroom for an hour and a half, just because he wants to finish an article. he reads article after article which then leads him to another article (thank God for links) and another article will then evolve into another article and then of course, he will have to check crazyapplerumors.com, and pointlesswasteoftime.com (which is hilarious mind you), and youtube.com of course. he now possesses a lot of "useless" knowledge(while reading this matt said, "its not useless. insignificant maybe."); and all because he one day realized that he no longer had to visit the public library to quench his thirst to read and for knowledge.
unfortunately he one time found himself at a very low point and ended up purchasing a gateway computer. he will probably say it was because he couldn't afford a mac but who really knows.
it was not long after that he found himself able to purchase his first mac which became his faithful sidekick for the next five years. that thing went through many trials and tribulations, well as many as a COMPUTER can i suppose, and served him well up until recently.
in january or february of 2007 he purchased his beloved "MACBOOK PRO" and he now says, "i don't know how i lived without this beautiful piece of technology for so long!" i may or may not have embellished that a bit...but i think it sounded fairly similar to what actually came out of his mouth...on numerous occasions.
i can't tell you how many times, in a day, i hear about a new mac product or updates being made TO mac products. my favorite thing is to hear about a NEW mac product, several different times in a week or month, because matt's memory seems to only hold information of NO IMPORTANCE WHATSOEVER.
now i'm definitely not saying i don't agree with what he's saying about macs, because after more than four years of being told of mac's superiority in the computer world, i've found myself preferring macs over the other ones. macs ARE better...but i'm not a crazy fiend who must "thrust" his mac knowledge and love upon everyone he gets to know. (after reading this statement matt injected that he does not THRUST mac's superiority upon anyone. he merely informs them of he advantages to buying a mac. now if the person were trying to buy a cheaper computer then he maybe wouldn't mention it at all. he then proceeds to ask me if when i was buying my computer last year, if money weren't as big of an issue as it was, wouldn't i have wanted a mac for around $500 more?) well duh matthew! in a moment of complete alzheimers and possibly something else, undefinable by all, we'd discussed matt trying to find me a "good" deal on a toshiba laptop either new or used. matt purchased me an acer aspire 3000 laptop...um...how on earth does one confuse ACER for TOSHIBA? this computer has been interesting to use, after having used a MACBOOKfor three years. even though the MACBOOKwas older and getting continually slower, it was still a better computer than my brand new acer...any ways...
i guess for now this will be my first installment of perhaps a 300 page novel of blogs about my husband's love for macs...if there are any significant others out there that find themselves in the same situation please feel free to comment. also, be sure to add any rules imposed upon you by your significant other when pertaining to that beloved mac. i'll do so later...thanks
